We envision RAD as a place that inspires learning, creativity, and innovation, with better facilities and new educational spaces that could be used by local schools, and the wider community. Our new plans will build on the permission we secured this summer to kick-start our proposed educational campus:
- The development of an educational campus that inspires learning, creativity and innovation.
- 457 high-quality student rooms, 160 of which would be affordable.
- More public realm and landscaping across the site and riverfront.
- Flexible ground-floor spaces and amenities.
Our Educational Campus Is off the Ground!
We are delighted that the first stage of our plans for an educational campus at Royal Albert Dock was approved by Newham Council earlier this year. This means that we can progress our transformation of this important regeneration site, with the following already approved for parts of the site:
- An educational campus that inspires learning, creativity and innovation.
- 628 high-quality student rooms, 220 of which will be affordable.
- More public realm and landscaping, with better seating and relaxation areas.
- Flexible ground-floor spaces to support community events, initiatives and retail amenities.
- A sustainable, green campus that will retrofit the existing buildings.
As part of the transformation of this key site, we have also received the necessary permissions from the council to construct a winery at the Royal Albert Dock.
